A New Circle for a New Life
We envision a community enriched by re-entering individuals (Homecomers) who are exchanging unhealthy behavior for a changed life through the abundant love of God and a heart transformed by the grace, mercy, and truth of Jesus Christ.
New Mercies fellowship wants to meet the varied needs of our members:
We believe Jesus is first and foremost; that everything improves as we grow more into this truth.
We believe rebuilding relationships and trust is key to reentry.
We believe in the Christian calling to bear one another's burdens through prayer, mentoring, and creating a judgment free space.
We believe in connecting people to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
New Mercies Fellowship
The foundation of our ministry is our New Mercies fellowship which meets on Thursday nights. This is an adult-only, spiritual Bible study, serving as an opportunity for Christian worship. Our focus is on ex-inmates who have trouble finding a welcoming Church community.
Resources
The Apostle James wrote in his letter, "If you say, 'Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well'—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?" (James 2:16) New Mercies is not a church or non-profit, but we have many partners and have tried to compile a list of organizations that are willing to help.
